FEDERAL IMPACT AID 2022-2023
Please return your forms before May 11, 2023!
WHAT IS FEDERAL IMPACT AID?
Federal Impact Aid is designed to lessen the impact of federal activity on the budgets of school districts when parents are on active duty or live or work on certain federal properties.
This year, the Madison County School System piloted an electronic survey via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Unfortunately, not all parents have activated their PS Parent Portal accounts, which resulted in responses being much lower than our normal numbers. The funding received via Impact Aid is important for our JROTC and special education programs. Therefore, we have decided to re-open our request for forms this school year.
WHO SHOULD COMPLETE THE FORM?
Parents and/or guardians of students who:
- Serve in the military (active or reserve)
- Work on Redstone Arsenal or other federal property as of October 20, 2022
- Live in a public housing community
If you have not already submitted a form for EACH of your children that attend an MCSS school, either online or paper copy, please complete this form and return it to your child’s school before May 11, 2023.
