Mrs. Coggins was named the 2018 Alabama History Teacher of the Year and has been recognized as the Alabama Journalism Adviser of the Year six times. She sponsors the History Club-Teens for Troops and is active in working with veterans in our area. She is also a freelance journalist and public relations consultant.
Mrs. Coggins is married to SHS head basketball coach, Jamie Coggins. They have two fur babies, Chesney and Marley. For fun, Coggins likes to travel, read World War II fiction and non-fiction, volunteer for Forever Young Senior Veterans in Alabama, root for Alabama football and Golden State Warriors basketball and attend exercise classes at the YMCA.
