I am thoroughly looking forward to this year. I began teaching at Sparkman High School in 2005 and am SO excited about starting a new year. There are few things as wonderful as the first day of school – meeting new students who will inspire me and, hopefully, be inspired by me. I love my job. I love getting to share my love of reading and writing with my students. I am a big supporter of students having personal responsibility for their actions or lack thereof. I want my students involved in their learning. I like to incorporate classroom discussion, group activities, varied writing exercises, and creativity in my lessons. I know that not every student is the same, and I am thankful for that. I truly believe Sparkman’s motto: Excellence our Tradition. Diversity our Strength.
