Sparkman Middle School provides two opportunities for 7th and 8th graders interested in cheerleading. 

Our Football and Competition Cheer Team is an intensive, gymnastic-centered team focused on developing competition-level routines and leading the crowd at our home football games. Members of the team are selected during the spring and spend several weeks in the summer building their skills and learning their routines. Our team often travels around the region for competitions. Many of our SMS Competition Cheer members go on to cheer for Sparkman 9 and Sparkman High School. 

Our Basketball Cheer Team is a rhythmic routine squad bringing energy and crowd-pumping chants to our home basketball games. Members of the team have the opportunity to help create many of the chants and movements that are used in the routines. Many of our SMS Basketball Cheer members go on to cheer for Sparkman 9 and Sparkman High School.
