Dr. Travis Schrimsher
Dr. Travis Schrimsher currently serves as the Principal Monrovia Middle School. He previously served as Principal of Athens High School, Athens City Schools’ “Flagship School”, and as Principal of Decatur High School in Decatur, Alabama. He has previously served as an assistant principal for Madison City Schools at James Clemens High School in the capacity of principal of The Academy and Alternative School. He also served Madison City Schools as an assistant principal, a teacher, and coach at Bob Jones High School. He has served as a teacher and two-time state championship football coach at Smyrna High School (Smyrna, Tenn.), Millington High School (Shelby County, Memphis, Tenn.), and Lake City High School (Florence County, S.C.).
He is the proud father of two phenomenal daughters, Sophia Nicole and Hadley Grace, and has been married to the former Nikki Hayden of Athens, Alabama for seventeen years. He is originally from Limestone County and graduated from Elkmont High School, and now resides in Athens, Alabama.
Dr. Schrimsher has an earned doctorate in Education and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, completed graduate studies at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina, as well as a B.S. Ed. in Social Science from Athens State University. Dr. Schrimsher is also a graduate of the University of Alabama Superintendents’ Academy. He is a member of EPIC Church.
