Jennifer Hamlett
My name is Jennifer Hamlett and this is my first year to teach at Sparkman High School. I will be teaching French and I'm thrilled to be a Sparkman Senator! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Secondary Ed. French from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and a master's degree in Education from the University of Georgia. I am certified to teach French, English, Social Studies, and Business Education.
While this is my first year to teach at Sparkman, I have taught at many levels of education including elementary, middle and high school, university, and adult education. I have had the opportunity to teach abroad in Germany, online for several years, as well as in the face to face classroom. For the last two years, I have been teaching at Columbia High School in Huntsville City, and have previously taught at James Clemens and Liberty Middle School.
My husband and I live in Madison with our four children. We are active members of our Church and we love to travel, watch movies, and spend time together as a family.
I love learning languages and meeting new people from other countries and cultures. Language learning can develop important skills that go beyond the world language classroom and can enhance many aspects of a person's life and education. As a teacher, I believe that every student has a unique perspective that benefits our classroom and that our class would not be complete without each person.
I am excited for this school year and feel prepared and optimistic for the challenges that are presented in this unique start to school. I look forward to being a part of the Sparkman High School family! Go Senators!
