Amber McDonald is entering her first year as a formal CTE educator in the area of Health Sciences. She is originally from Poplarville, MS; but relocated back South in the fall of 2018 after living in Vermont for most of her adult life.

Prior to teaching, Amber worked as an RN in the hospital setting, school nurse, fitness instructor, health educator, and assistant middle school cross country coach in Vermont. More recently, she worked as a nurse practitioner at a clinic in Athens. 

She holds her degrees in Associate in Nursing, Bachelor's of Arts, and Master's of Science. Amber is married with 4 boys. The eldest graduated in May 2021 from Sparkman High. When not in school, she spends time with her family, hiking, exercising, completing puzzles, reading, and playing with her four dogs.
