My name is Scott Coonfare. I teach Earth & Space Science and Physical Science here at Sparkman. I love having the opportunity to teach science to these incredible students.
I am married and have two children. My wife, whom I have been married to for 33 years, is a technology teacher at Legacy Elementary. She was formally one of the highest ranking elementary teachers in the state of Florida prior to moving here this past summer. Our son, Matthew, is a manager with Amazon and lives in Bradenton, Florida. Our daughter, Maggie, lives here in Huntsville and is currently working at Starbucks.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to sponsor five student science projects to the International Space Station. I am also lucky to team up with NASA for the students to remotely operate a deep-space telescope in California twice a week, collecting data on Black Holes.
