My name is Emily Drane, and I teach several classes at Sparkman that include Family and Consumer Science, Sports Nutrition, and a CTE lab.

I enjoy teaching in the Family and Consumer Science area of study. The focus is on life skills that help students lead a successful and healthy life, which  is a very exciting and ever-evolving study. The students really enjoy cooking and the hands-on element to our learning as well. I am enjoying teaching here at Sparkman and am excited to come to work each day. I live in Decatur, but my mom and sister both live close to Sparkman, and I love this area which adds to my enthusiasm to be a part of such a great school and community. I am a mom to two girls. My oldest daughter is a college student, and my little girl is in elementary school. Spending time with them is a priority and definitely keeps me busy. I love to read, travel, learn, and try new things! I am looking forward to a productive year!
