PTA/PTO
Madison County Schools encourages PTA and PTO groups to operate on behalf of our schools. Research shows that parent involvement is a key factor in the academic success of students and helps create a safe and welcoming environment in schools. However, it is equally important that these organizations maintain transparency and a commitment to good stewardship of funds and resources.
In 2018, the MCBOE passed a Parent Group Policy that requires any organizations operating on behalf of our schools to provide documentation that proves they are operating legally and with required transparency. Currently, all groups operating in our schools fulfil these requirements.
This policy is specifically for PTA and PTO groups, but we encourage all Booster Clubs to adopt the same documentation requirements to support their transparency and dedication to good stewardship.
