Clarification: Employees as PTA/PTO officers
September 2021: Ms. O'Bannon, our CFSO, and Mr. Kubik, Director of Personnel, have determined that substitute teachers are considered contract employees and therefore do not fall under the employment of MCSS. What this means for you is that the regulation regarding school employees handling PTA/PTO funds is not in effect for "substitute teachers".
The restriction on employees serving as a PTA/PTO officer that handles money for the organization (primarily president and treasurer) still stands for anyone employed by MCSS.
